Alan C. Sherburne, M.D.
Dr. Sherburne is a general surgeon certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has over 10 years of experience, with interests including General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. He performs a variety of open and minimally invasive procedures, including hernia repairs, removal of the gallbladder or appendix as well as colon resections. He additionally performs upper endoscopies as well as colonoscopies.

Amy
As the Bariatric Coordinator, Amy is a Registered Nurse who has been on staff at Auburn Community Hospital for over 10 years, with experience in post-operative surgical care and staff development. As the Bariatric Coordinator, Amy is responsible for the integration and coordination of all activities related to the care of the bariatric patient.
Liz
Liz has a BS from SUNY Cortland and a Certificate in Dietitics from Cornell University. She received her R.D. (Registered Dietian) from Syracuse University. Liz works closely with patients to help them navigate the nutritional challenges before and after surgery. She works with the surgeons and nursing staff to ensure that patients meet their weight loss goals.
Terri
With over 30 years of experience at Auburn Community Hospital, Terri is the first person many patients talk to regarding questions and concerns about the requirements for bariatric surgery. Terri is responsible for receiving and managing patient information and making sure that all program requirements are completed prior to surgical scheduling.
Kim
Kim has more than 30 years of nursing experience and is a Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN). She provides experienced patient care and is a key line of communication with Finger Lakes Bariatric services.
Working directly with the bariatric surgeons, Kim is responsible for the initial evaluation of each patient with introductory education and creating individual plans of care based on patient needs. Kim assists the surgeons with follow up care of patients who have undergone both the lap band or gastric bypass. She also coordinates support groups
Chris
Chris has vast experience in surgical insurance authorization and scheduling and has worked with several local surgeons. Once you have completed the initial insurance requirements, Chris will obtain insurance authorization for your bariatric surgery. After this has been received, she will call you to schedule your pre-admission testing appointments and your actual surgery date.
